Protein Recovery, Purification and Analysis
|
Our protein recovery and analysis team has substantial expertise in purifying and evaluating proteins from cell culture, and has developed efficient, effective methods for extracting and purifying functional proteins from insect larvae. Following physical disruption, host debris is removed by a combination of centrifugation and filtration, including a final pass through a 0.2 µm filter prior to chromatography. The team then purifies target proteins through ion exchange, size exclusion, and other normal biopharmaceutical processing methods adapted to the physical properties of the individual target protein.
Standard processes developed for whole larvae extracts typically yield initial purities greater than 90%, which frequently is sufficient for preliminary physical or functional analysis by the client. Depending on the client’s need, our team can conduct optimization studies that increase both yield and purity.
